Description

North Bronte Park suffered a rockfall event in August 2025 causing damage to the cliff face, beach access stairs and a stormwater culvert. The adjoining beach and coastal walk were immediately closed as a precaution, while council undertook investigations. Waverley Council is now seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced Head Contractor, via a Design and Construct (D&C) procurement package to deliver Stage 1 (RFT 1) of the North Bronte Beach Rockfall project. The purpose of Stage 1 works is to investigate and confirm site conditions, mitigate immediate risks related to the unstable rock material, damaged stair and existing stormwater culvert, remediate the unstable rock material and damaged stair, and restore the existing stormwater culvert. The final Phase of Stage 1 focuses on undertaking the design, documentation, planning and costing frameworks to inform future procurement and project delivery related to public domain works.
