Rocky View County - Request for Qualification - RFPQ 26-008 General Contractor- Madden Fire Station

This Request for Pre-Qualification (“RPQ”) is an invitation by the Rocky View County of (the “County”) to prospective respondents to qualify in accordance with Evaluation of Responses (Part 2) for eligibility to provide General Contracting as further described in Section A of the Scope of Work (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”). Rocky View County is soliciting responses for the construction of a new fire station in the Hamlet of Madden. The existing fire station has reached capacity and is impacting the effective and efficient delivery of emergency services. In November 2024 Council approved the development of an approximately 12,000 square foot facility on a 4.0 hectare parcel. The building completion date or substantial completion is scheduled for Spring of 2028. This building is to consist of 3 double-deep apparatus bays and training tower. The Fire Station will accommodate 40 volunteer Fire Fighters. The Station will also include office space, IT room, lunchroom, instructional training room, fitness room, showers and changing areas. Water and wastewater services will be provided via an on-site well and septic storage tank. A cistern is also included and will be located below the Training Tower portion of the fire station to provide a water source for the fire suppression system required for the station. In addition to the building, the contractor will be responsible for the construction of civil works within the site boundary including site grading, landscaping, site access and the parking lot (including curbs, sidewalks, surfacing, lighting, plug-ins), and connections to utility services. The building is to have a sprinkler system (fire protection). The contractor is to ensure adequate Erosion and Sedimentation Control during construction. The contractor is to work as a collaborative team member with County’s Project Manager and Project Architect and Engineers to ensure scope, budget, and schedules are maintained. The intent of this pre-qualification process is to allow Rocky View County to rate, rank, and select eligible Contractors that will bid the necessary services to facilitate the construction of the Madden Fire Station.
