Radiotherapy linear accelerator

This procurement concerns the acquisition of one new radiotherapy linear accelerator for the wellbeing services county of Pohjois-Savo, scheduled for delivery in 2025. Additionally, there is an option to procure a similar radiotherapy linear accelerator in 2026. The new devices will replace the existing linear accelerators (Elekta Infinity models) currently located in treatment rooms 2 and 3 of the KYS (Kuopio University Hospital) Radiotherapy Unit. The procured linear accelerators must be capable of supporting two key functionalities: 1) On-line adaptive image-guided radiotherapy, and 2) Precise treatment delivery for both large (28 × 28 cm²) and small (2 × 2 cm²) radiation therapy fields. This acquisition aims to upgrade the radiotherapy infrastructure, enhancing treatment precision and enabling advanced therapeutic techniques for cancer patients within the region.
