Reconstruction of LC 221 021 Prodnik – Kaker

Following the flood event in August 2023, three landslides occurred on the local road LC 221 021 Prodnik – Kaker, causing damage to the carriageway structure and compromising undersized culverts and the drainage system. To ensure basic usability, urgent intervention works were carried out, but these were temporary and did not provide a permanent solution to the geotechnical and hydraulic problems. Comprehensive reconstruction is addressed in the attached PZI design documentation (JC BIRO, no. GP 61-2025), which envisages terrain stabilization, carriageway reconstruction, and drainage improvements. The road will remain a gravel surface with a width of 3.0–4.0 m. After reconstruction, a new carriageway structure will be implemented with the required load-bearing capacity and appropriate longitudinal and transverse slopes. Existing DN 300 culverts will be replaced with DN 1000 reinforced concrete culverts with DN 1500 inlet shafts and properly constructed stone outlets, thereby improving hydraulic capacity and reducing the risk of blockages by debris. A drainage system behind the retaining walls will be installed, draining into DN 800 shafts. The reconstruction of the landslides will involve the construction of three gravity retaining walls made of stone in concrete with weep holes and a steel guardrail: - Section A: length 42.70 m, height up to 4.0 m, - Section B: length 29.48 m, height up to 3.0 m, - Section C: length 19.47 m, height up to 3.0 m, additionally reinforced with driven HEA profiles of length 7.0 m. Construction includes proper preparation of foundation soil, controlled excavations under geotechnical supervision, execution of working platforms, and carrying out works in accordance with construction safety regulations.
