The Sanborn Maps are used by HPD's divisions of Environmental units, architects and engineers in Building and Land Development. A key power user is The Office of Development who uses the maps in the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure application for research of properties ownership, Land Use, Size of lots, Size of buildings previously on the site, Vacant lot for development, City Planning request sanborn and DoF maps outlining of lots, Research on historic uses of sites for project developmentexistence of buildings, prior addresses. Research on historic uses and development on sites for the Law Dept and Research on historic uses and buildings on sites for Intergov to respond to elected official inquiries.
