This applies in particular to the requirements of animal disease, animal carcass disposal, and animal welfare regulations, as well as relevant legal provisions for landscape conservation, soil protection, and nature conservation. To the extent that the Bundeswehr is responsible for the enforcement of these laws, the directly applicable legal acts of the European Union, and the legal provisions issued on the basis of these laws, in accordance with veterinary regulations, in particular the Animal Health Act, the Animal Welfare Act, and the Animal By-products Disposal Act, the official orders issued by the competent authorities of the Bundeswehr (usually the locally responsible monitoring authority for public-law tasks of the Bundeswehr Medical Service [South/North/East/West], Veterinary Department) shall apply directly. These may not be established in sensitive areas such as spring areas, wetlands, water protection zones, bank areas, and dry grasslands. The erection of structures such as shelters, feeding troughs, dips, etc., requires the written consent of the BwDLZ Berlin. The herd must be managed predominantly during the day; enclosure/grazing with electric fences is only permitted on areas of Zone A and in areas fenced with an external fence. On other areas, enclosure with electric fences is not permitted. The introduction of sheep from external herds without prior authorization from the Federal Government (BwDLZ Berlin) is strictly prohibited and will result in the immediate termination of the lease agreement in case of violation due to the risk of infection for humans and animals.
