SCHIRN - Transport and Packaging Services for Artworks of All Types

The contracting authority intends to establish a framework agreement for the transport and packaging of art objects of all kinds to and from the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt GmbH, serving various lenders within Germany, Europe, and other continents. This framework agreement is planned to have a duration of four years. The Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt is committed to calculating its annual CO2 emissions, which arise in connection with each exhibition project, as part of its climate assessment. Transport companies are required to provide evaluable data for this calculation. This can be achieved either by stating the expected emissions in the initial bid and invoice, with a transparent and comprehensible calculation method, or by providing details on air, sea, or road transport (fuel consumption, payload, truck size), packaging (crates, etc.), and packaging materials if emissions calculation is not feasible. Information on transport weight (kg/volume) and transport routes (km) is also essential. The contractor's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: proper packaging of exhibits, transportation of exhibits to and from the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt GmbH (land, air, sea freight), handling all associated national and international formalities, accompanying art couriers as required, storage of artworks and empty crates as needed, and recording data for climate accounting. Only bids that meet all requirements of the service description, including legal framework conditions, and can adhere to the specified minimum standards will be considered for award.
