Schnieglinger Str. 71 (147a) - Crematorium, furnace renovation, 013.01 structural work

1. Subject of the tendered service: As part of the renovation of the Nuremberg crematorium, Westfriedhof, it is necessary to expand the technical building structurally. The existing crematorium building will be renovated and converted, as well as extended to the same eaves height. The extension will be carried out in a westerly direction, thus as far as possible from the historically listed existing building parts. The present tender primarily covers the structural work for conversion and extension, as well as earthworks, and the construction of rainwater drainage and building drainage. An important condition to be mentioned is that the execution of the project is divided into a total of five construction phases and that the conversion/renovation and extension must take place DURING OPERATION. The measure comprises sectional construction services, which in part have complex interfaces with the technical equipment and plant construction of the cremation facilities. A large proportion of the trades and service areas are repeated in the individual construction phases.

2. List of trades and service areas to be executed: The following are the main trades and service areas that are essential for the implementation of the project. The contractor must be aware of the resulting interfaces and coordinate them independently. a) Site setup and safety measures; b) Demolition and dismantling work (including common hazardous substances) in interior and exterior areas; c) Waste disposal with sampling, analysis, recycling/disposal; d) Earthworks and dewatering; e) Special foundation work, partly within existing buildings, including dewatering -> soldier pile walls including statics and execution planning, and excavation support in the interior of the existing building, including statics and execution planning; f) Masonry work in the interior of the existing building; g) Rainwater, drainage, and wastewater work -> earthworks, pipe networks, manholes, pumping stations outside buildings, connections to existing pipes and to the public sewage network, pressure pipe including earthworks from the pumping station for rainwater/drainage water to the infiltration basin is not part of this tender; h) Concrete and reinforced concrete work -> formwork, reinforcement, in-situ concrete work, precast concrete elements for walls, ceilings, and parapets, installation of steel parts; i) Sealing and insulation work -> sealing of construction and movement joints (joint sheets and bands), external area sealing, insulation of earth-contacting components; j) Lightning protection and earthing systems 3. Special foundation work (additional description of interior excavation support) In the interior of the existing building, a deep excavation pit is required for the construction of the new ducts. The distance between the respective construction section and the adjacent, operational furnace line is so confined that a free slope for the excavation pit is not possible. Thus, excavation support as a soldier pile wall is required. The steel beams are designed as cantilever beams without back anchoring, so that the excavation support can also be used for the subsequent construction section as slope stabilization (with a mirrored excavation situation). The arrangement of the beams is essentially regular but must be individually adjusted in the center distance depending on the existing pipes and building components in partial areas. Due to the low working height in the 2nd basement, the work must be carried out with correspondingly small vehicles. The steel beams must be joined multiple times in height. The foundation of the auxiliary foundations for the supports during construction within the respective excavation pit is produced according to the same principle as the excavation support. Only the infill between the steel beams is omitted. The steel beams generally remain in the ground.
