De provincie is bevoegd gezag voor vergunningverlening, toezicht en handhaving op onder andere het gebied van milieu, natuur, water, bodem, en ontgrondingen. Het verlenen van vergunningen, het houden van toezicht en het voeren van handhavingsprocedures is in opdracht belegd bij de drie Brabantse Omgevingsdiensten. Het programma ?VTH? verleent deze opdracht aan de omgevingsdiensten, stuurt op de uitvoering, maakt daarvoor uitvoeringsbeleid (denk aan handelingsperspectieven), legt de brug tussen de omgevingsdiensten en het provinciebestuur, en tussen de omgevingsdiensten en de beleidsprogramma's van de provincie.De belangrijkste opgaven waar jij samen met je directe collega's invulling aan gaat geven zijn:Je bent onze juridische vraagbaak voor met name stikstof en natuur. Onderwerpen die hierbij horen zijn soortenbescherming, uitvoeringsbeleid fauna enzovoort. Samen met de collega's adviseer je over beleid ten aanzien van stikstof.Je neemt deel aan juridische landelijke werkgroepen met betrekking tot stikstof.Je kunt worden ingezet voor andere juridische vraagstukken. Denk hierbij aan advisering over complexe casu?stiek die buiten het mandaat van de omgevingsdiensten vallen, of om een andere reden aan de gedeputeerde worden voorgelegd. Het gaat hierom activiteiten waarvoor de provincie bevoegd gezag is, zoals Seveso-inrichtingen, afvalbedrijven, water en natuur.
