Description
With more than 60 years, Europe in Space, now represented by ESA, through its programmes and activities, has accumulated a vast amount of information produced within the Agency or provided by its Member States and by external entities (including Contractors and Third Parties). This information, which needs to be maintained to fulfil legal obligations, business needs or for its historical value, is preserved in the ESA Archives at the European Centre for Space Records (ECSR) at ESRIN, Italy. They constitute an administrative, scientific and technical heritage that needs to be preserved to protect the legacy of the Agency. The ESA Archives mandate is topreserve, protect, make accessible and enhance this information.
