Smart devices in KVP

The contracting authority, the Municipal District Košice-Sídlisko KVP, is implementing the project "Smart devices in KVP", which represents a key initiative to support the development of smart cities and modern public service management. The project responds to the growing need for effective collection, processing, gathering, and utilization of data in public administration, with the aim of improving the quality of decision-making, increasing safety in public spaces, and strengthening transparency and citizen engagement in communication with local government. The subject of the contract is the supply and implementation of a comprehensive set of technological and software solutions that will enable the municipality to build an integrated and data-driven system for the digital management of the urban environment. The technological infrastructure includes 19 intelligent PTZ cameras, which will be located at strategically selected points within the municipality. Each location will be connected to a central dispatch system and will be equipped with the necessary power and data infrastructure. The project also includes three meteorological and environmental monitoring stations, which will be installed on publicly owned buildings and will continuously collect key environmental data, especially wind speed and air quality. This data will serve not only as a basis for faster and better decision-making by the local government but will also be made available to the public through digital information channels, thus contributing to raising environmental awareness and civic engagement. An important part of the system will be a network of digital information panels (digital signage), which will be installed in busy locations such as in front of the local office building, community cafe, skate park, shopping centers, or next to the Starozagorska interchange. The panels will serve as dynamic information tools that will display current weather, public calls, warnings, and data from sensor systems, thus ensuring timely and relevant communication with residents. All system components will be centrally managed from a newly built dispatch workstation, which will be equipped with modern technologies for data visualization, storage, and analysis, including high-performance monitors, backup storage, control elements, and air conditioning to ensure reliable operation. Data from all devices - camera metadata, weather stations, and information boards - will be processed through a secure cloud platform that will be integrated with the municipality's website and open data portals. The platform will provide standardized outputs and interfaces (APIs) for real-time access, ensure interoperability, and data publication according to the principles of open governance. The use of technologies such as MS SQL, Power BI, and Reporting Services will enable the municipality to visualize trends, monitor infrastructure status, and effectively plan further activities. The project will result in a safer, smarter, and better-connected urban environment, strengthening public trust in local government, and moving the Municipal District Košice-Sídlisko KVP towards modern, digitally transformed, and citizen-oriented public administration.
