Soil particle size analyzer School of Forest Sciences (University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu campus) is purchasing a soil particle size analyzer capable of accurate measurement of wide range of particle sizes in environmental, soil sediment and peat samples.
The device is intended to support laboratory operations requiring high precision grain size analysis for research, monitoring, and environmental assessment. Soil particle size distribution (PSD) is a core parameter used in forest sciences, environmental sciences that gives essential background information for research: analysis of forest management, soil science and forest damage risks. In addition to scientific research, soil analysis is a significant part of the teaching at School of Forest Sciences.
Currently Laboratory of School of Forest Sciences does not include a modern laser diffraction analyzer capable of covering the required size spectrum (0.1 – 2500 µm) with sufficient accuracy, reproducibility, and sample throughput.,
