SPECIFIC PROCUREMENT NOTICE
Invitation for Prequalification For Construction of the 57 Kms Duplicate Water Transmission Main DN 1500
This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business under notice no. WB 320-696/07 of January 17, 2007.
The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania (GoT) and Development Partners are implementing the Water Sector Development Program (WSDP and the GoT has set aside funds towards the cost of the Water SectorDevelopment Program (WSDP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of the funds to payments under the contract for Installation of the Duplicate Transmission Main from the Lower Ruvu water treatment plant. The Dar es Salaam water and Sewerage Authority on behalf of the United Republic of Tanzania intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for Installation of the 57 kms Water Transmission Main DN 1500 including pipeline appurtenances andsurge control facilities at the Lower Ruvu pumping station. It is expected that invitations for bids will be made in July 2011
Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries,as defined in the guidelines.
Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification document at the office of The Secretary, DAWASA Tender Board, Dunga/Malanga Street (Mwananyamala area), P.O.Box 1573 Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from 08.00 hrs to 16.00 hrs local time on Mondays to Fridays except Public holidays.
A complete set of the prequalification document in English may be purchased by interested applicants (a) on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Tanzanian Shillings One hundred Fifty Thousand (i.e Tshs 150,000.00) or its equivalent amount in any freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be by direct cash payment to our cashier or by Telegraphic Transfer to our account number 01J1042996201 held with the CRDB Bank Tanzania; Swift code CORUTZ TZ. The documents can be corrected in person or sent by courier on bidders' account.
Applications for prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address below by Wednesday June 15, 2011, and be clearly marked "Application to Prequalify for Installation of the Lower Ruvu Transmission Main."
