SPECT-CT equipment, Soite

The subject of the procurement is a hybrid molecular imaging device SPECT-CT (gamma camera and computed tomography system) to be acquired for the isotope unit (Room No. 1.427/G) of the KPKS radiology department of the Central Ostrobothnia Wellbeing Services County (Soite). The equipment to be acquired will be used for gamma imaging, SPECT-CT imaging, and CT imaging. The equipment will serve as a backup device for the CT scanner in continuous 24/7 use at the on-call central hospital, enabling and ensuring uninterrupted on-call imaging during both unforeseen and planned downtimes of the CT scanner, as well as during downtime caused by the installation required for the upcoming replacement of the CT scanner. The subject of the procurement is a functional entity for the most common isotope imaging and SPECT-CT fusion imaging. The functional entity must enable the imaging of CT examinations required for on-call imaging (including CT perfusion of the brain, ECG-gated vascular CT imaging) in addition to standard diagnostic CT examinations. The imaging equipment must be suitable (sensitivity, spatial resolution) for gamma imaging of bones, kidney function, cardiac perfusion, cardiac shunts, lung perfusion and ventilation, sentinel lymph nodes, parathyroid glands, thyroid metastases, and brain dopamine transporter proteins. We emphasize features that reduce patient radiation dose and improve image quality, such as dose modulation (CT scans) and iterative reconstruction (CT and SPECT scans), as well as scatter, metal artifact, etc., correction programs. We expect the device to have versatile image analysis software. We value the user's ability to flexibly modify imaging parameters and perform image calculations (reconstructions) both at the imaging device's control workstation and with different vendor software (e.g., Hermes Medical Solutions). We value the device's usability features and ergonomics, and its suitability for the purposes required by a 24/7 on-call central hospital. Usability in patient positioning on the device, so that the area of interest can be fully captured even in anatomically challenging patients, is an important feature influencing the selection of the equipment. The flexible positioning of pediatric patients and patients undergoing imaging under anesthesia must also be considered in the selection. In terms of usability features, we prioritize the degree of automation in collimator changes and the quality of routine quality assurance tasks from the perspective of staff ergonomics and working time. We also expect comprehensive commissioning training and reliable, fast-responding maintenance and spare parts service.
