Due to the large difference in elevation and considering the age of the structure, the transported debris caused the destruction of individual cascades in sections. The bed reinforcement was extensively dislodged. Individual cascades were removed and destabilized. Individual stones were dislodged from the side embankment wall. Due to the location of the damaged areas in difficult terrain, access to the intervention area is only possible under difficult conditions. Starting from the mouth area, access is severely restricted by the underpass of the railway line. Furthermore, the damaged cascades are located in the upper, steep slope area of the Fechelsgrundbach. The bank areas are characterized by steep, heavily wooded slopes on both sides, which drop down to the watercourse. Access to the intervention area will therefore be via the approximately 30 m high rock face located above the damaged areas. A temporary construction road to be built will lead via agricultural land to the upper edge of the rock face. The transport of the necessary equipment and materials to the intervention area will be carried out by mobile or tower cranes. A crawler excavator is planned for the work in the watercourse. The damaged areas that have occurred are to be repaired in consultation with the contracting authority according to the existing situation, thus restoring the function of the facility. The following measures are planned: • Construction of a temporary construction road (length approx. 404.00 m, width approx. 3.50 m) incl. passing bay (length approx. 25.00 m, width approx. 4.00 m) as access to the intervention area • Creation of 3 earth depots (length approx. 50.00 m each, width approx. 4.00 m each) for storing the removed topsoil during the construction period and re-embedding after completion of the work •Construction of three temporary construction site facilities and crane assembly areas o first construction site facility above the rock face o second construction site facility at the foot of the rock face incl. scaffolding staircase tower to ensure better construction site access o third construction site facility on the side of the Fechelsgrundbach (if required as a parking area for construction equipment) •Clearing of the watercourse profile and restoration of the destroyed cascades according to the existing situation: o Clearing of the watercourse profile of debris/stones/deposits (approx. 250 m²) o Slope stabilization as preparation for cascade repair using reinforced sprayed concrete (approx. 65 m²) o Restoration/repair of 12 cascades made of sandstone blocks set in concrete o Repair of two damaged sections of the bank walls •Felling of approx. 8 standard trees, and clearing of an approx. 12 m long hornbeam hedge to create construction space •Compensation measures in the form of new tree plantings (replanting of the 12 m long protective planting, compensatory planting of the felled standard trees in a ratio of 1:1.5 on the intervention area or on a provided afforestation area) It is recommended to carry out a site visit in advance for the preparation of the cost estimate, particularly to assess the terrain in the area of the cascade repair and construction site access. g) No planning services are required h) Division into lots: no i) Execution periods: Start: 01.11.2026, End: 28.02.2027, The construction period is fixed due to nature conservation restrictions and is to be considered non-variable. j) If applicable, information according to § 8 paragraph 2 number 3 regarding the non-admission of alternative offers: Not applicable, as alternative offers are admitted. k) If applicable, information according to § 8 paragraph 2 number 4 regarding the non-admission of submitting multiple main offers: Not applicable, as the submission of multiple main offers is permitted. l) Place where tender documents can be requested: The tender documents will be provided on the e-procurement platform evergabe.de.
