Conferences Natura 2000: Workshop series and exchange of experience with three events on current topics of Natura 2000 with participants from Germany and the EU

After the creation of the National FFH Report 2025, three events will provide an opportunity for an exchange of experience on current topics of Natura 2000. The implementation will be professionally supported by carrying out a total of three workshops in the years 2026 - 2029. Current topics may include: Exchange of experience and further development of the fifth National Report according to Article 17 FFH Directive, exchange of experience on the updating of management planning in Natura 2000 areas, presentation and discussion of new EU Guidelines, exchange of experience on improving conservation status and requirements of the new EU Restoration Regulation, exchange of experience on improving the assessment of characteristic species in LRT (especially regarding insect decline), contribution of Natura 2000 to safeguarding biodiversity in Germany and Europe. The topics of the 3 individual conferences will be determined annually according to necessity and topicality. Part of the project is the organization and moderation of the conferences as well as the publication in one of the BfN series. An international workshop with English-language publication is also planned. In order to make the results accessible to a broad public, they should be made available free of charge. Therefore, both printing costs and costs for implementing accessibility are considered in the financing plan. Travel expenses for selected participants are also included in the financing plan.
