1.0 The Government of Kenya has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
2.0 The Consulting Services (“the services”) include Consulting Services for Technical support & partnership specialists 1 for Coffee Value Chain revitalization and factory modernization. The estimated period of the assignment is twelve (12) calendar months from contract commencement date.
3.0 The detailed Terms of Reference (TOR) for the assignment can be found at the following website: www.kilimo.go.ke
4.0 The State Department for Agriculture (“the Client”) now invites eligible individuals (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The expert should have the following minimum qualifications and experience
i. A minimum Bachelor of science degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agribusiness,
Value Chain Development, or related fields.
ii. A Minimum of 5 years specific experience in agriculture/agribusiness, with proven expertise in
Coffee value Chain, digital transformation.
iii. A minimum of 8 years general experience in leadership in large-scale agricultural
modernization or value chain programmes, climate-smart technologies, and blended finance.
5.0 The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” First Published July 2016 and revised Forth Edition November 2020 (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
6.0 A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Selection Based on the Individual Selection method set out in the procurement Regulations.
