Description

The Government of Saskatchewan (GOS) is seeking a qualified consultant to conduct a Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA) legacy tailings at the former Western Nuclear Mine (Hanson Lake). The study will assess mineral concentrations within the tailings and evaluate the technical feasibility, economic viability, and environmental considerations associated with reprocessing the material for mineral recovery.As a pilot initiative under the Non-Uranium Abandoned Mines (NUAM) Program, this project will provide critical information to determine whether tailings reprocessing should advance to future phases. The findings will support decision-making regarding potential next steps, including detailed engineering, pilot-scale testing, construction, operations, and eventual site decommissioning.
