Description

Agency: UNFPA | Reference: UNFPA-HQ-00024,1 | Type: Request for proposal

As the leading agency for the procurement and distribution of sexual and reproductive health commodities, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) prioritizes quality assurance throughout the entire supply chain.

This includes pre-shipment, post-shipment, surveillance, and quality control testing to verify that pharmaceuticals, contraceptives, and menstrual health management products meet applicable quality standards.UNFPA seeks the engagement of internationally accredited testing laboratories through this Request for Proposals (RFP).

Upon conclusion of the solicitation process, UNFPA intends to establish Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) with multiple successful proposers.

The services covered under these agreements will involve evaluating products in the context of routine quality control, complaint handling, Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations, and post-shipment testing of finished products.

These activities are essential to ensuring the continued safety, efficacy, and quality of commodities supplied under UNFPA-supported programmes. The implementation of quality control under this arrangement is aligned with UNFPA’s Quality Assurance Framework for Sexual and Reproductive Health Products and supports UNFPA’s processes for approving products and manufacturers/suppliers.To conduct this solicitation, UNFPA is usingQuantum, an ERP platform based Oracle Cloud, which supports the United Nations procurement processes.
