Toerisme Vlaanderen en de Provincie West-Vlaanderen willen via een concessie een partner selecteren die instaat voor de realisatie en exploitatie van een Belevingscentrum Blauwe Economie. Dit centrum wordt een all-weather attractie die bezoekers het jaarrond een inspirerende, interactieve en educatieve ervaring biedt rond de Blauwe Economie. Het project moet bijdragen aan de strategische doelstelling om de Kust te ontwikkelen als een dynamische, duurzame bestemming en het imago van Vlaanderen als voortrekker in de blauwe economie versterken. De concessiehouder staat in voor: โข Het zoeken naar een geschikte locatie en het ter beschikking stellen van deze locatie voor minimum 10 jaar โข Ontwerp en inrichting van het belevingscentrum โข De realisatie van de beleving met fysieke en digitale elementen โข Inclusieve en toegankelijke infrastructuur voor diverse doelgroepen โข Jaarrond exploitatie en dynamische werking gedurende minstens 10 jaar, inclusief vernieuwing van het aanbod en tijdelijke expoโs om het herhaalbezoek te stimuleren. Hiervoor zijn garanties van publieke en private partners cruciaal.
