Das Landratsamt Mittelsachsen ist Träger der Förderschule Am Taurastein in Burgstädt, einer Schule mit dem Förderschwerpunkt Lernen. Diese Förderschule sieht sich aktuell mit einem erheblichen Rückstau an Instandhaltungs- und Sanierungsmaßnahmen konfrontiert.
