UPOL/PřF/KACH - Coupling of ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography with high-resolution tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC/HRTMS)

The subject of the Public Contract is the acquisition of a coupling of ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) with high-resolution tandem mass spectrometry (HRTMS) equipped with ion mobility. The device allows for the comprehensive analysis of complex samples containing a large number of analytes in a wide range of molecular weights, polarities, and concentrations. It enables detailed structural analysis of materials after their extraction into the liquid phase and separation of individual components in various chromatographic modes, as well as their direct analysis using a direct probe or laser desorption-ionization (with and without matrix). The selectivity of measurement will be supported by ion mobility separation with the possibility of determining collision cross-sections to support analyte characterization. The device must allow for targeted and untargeted analysis of sample components. For direct measurement using laser desorption-ionization, it must enable mass imaging (mapping) of the surface of a solid sample or its cross-section. The scope of delivery must include software for controlling the instrument, data acquisition and processing, software for metabolite analysis, multivariate statistics for tracking chemical differences between different materials and samples, and evaluation of data from mass imaging experiments.
