Renovation of Vähärauma substation

Pori Energia Sähköverkot Oy is set to renew the Vähärauma substation, originally built in the 1970s, during the years 2025-2026. The new substation will be constructed adjacent to the existing facility, with some components positioned above the current station. This project will be executed as a KVR contract and includes modifications to 110 kV power lines, transitions to new portals, and the rerouting of existing medium voltage and telecommunications cables to the new structure. The scope of the substation includes two (2) 110 kV outgoing fields, two (2) 110 kV transformer fields (including transformer foundations), and a shared single-bus system. The SF6-free medium voltage switchgear will comprise approximately 40 cells, depending on the switchgear solution, and will be implemented as a double-bus system (or duplex). The delivery will also include two fixed earth fault protection devices and an adjustable reactor. The new substation building will feature two floors (cable space and equipment rooms) with a minimum area of 600 m2. The contract also encompasses the power upgrade (ONAN to ONAF) of the existing main transformer (PM2) and its relocation to the new transformer foundation, along with the necessary connection works for a new main transformer (PM1) procured by the client. Additionally, the relocation of existing equipment, including the 110 kV transformer to the client's storage and the transfer and commissioning of two earth fault protection devices at the new substation, is included. The demolition of existing structures and equipment at the current substation, along with sorting for recycling, is also part of the contract. The procurement is not divided into parts, as it constitutes a single cohesive entity, emphasizing the importance of coordinated execution.
