vergA_ELT_ (General-)Renovation of Petersaurach School Center

This tender concerns the comprehensive renovation of the Petersaurach School Center, a facility that has aged and no longer meets current standards, particularly regarding fire safety and accessibility. A key objective is to accommodate the demand for full-day schooling for primary school students starting from the 2026/2027 academic year. This necessitates an optimization of space, taking maximum advantage of available funding.

The adjacent sports and gymnasium hall is currently undergoing separate renovation and is excluded from this contract. The Mittelschule (middle school) within the center will operate until July 2026, with the final ninth-grade class departing at that time. The project's completion is anticipated by July 2027. During the renovation, appropriate spaces must be maintained for the Mittelschule, including the "Mittelbau" (central section), which can and should be utilized during the renovation period. Following the completion of the overall project, a demolition of the "Mittelbau" is planned.

Consideration is being given to an extension, specifically a head building at the southern end, which could address some of the identified challenges and provide additional required spaces. A study on this matter is available with the tender documents, though pursuing it is not mandatory, and alternative ideas are welcomed. Furthermore, there are expansion reserves in the attic of the main building (Building F) and considerations for their utilization, with the study offering insights into potential uses.

The renovation will be carried out during ongoing operations, likely in several construction phases yet to be determined. The aim is to complete the project without the need for temporary facilities. Ensuring full-day care from the 2026/2027 school year is a priority. Ideally, the entire project should be completed within approximately five years, subject to budgetary constraints. The optimization of the school grounds for sports activities is also part of the scope.
