De gemeente Dinkelland wil Denekamp Oost ontwikkelen tot een toekomstbestendige, duurzame woonwijk met circa 80–90 woningen, passend bij de woonbehoefte. Denekamp Oost 2b krijgt een eigentijdse opzet met hogere dichtheid, veel groen en een goede inpassing in het dorp. Het programma is gevarieerd (goedkope koop, zorg en vrije sector), met passende parkeervoorzieningen en een goede aansluiting op de omgeving.
Met deze aanbesteding daagt de gemeente marktpartijen uit tot een innovatieve, duurzame en inclusieve invulling. Doel is verdichting, meer betaalbare woningen en versnelling, met aandacht voor identiteit, gezondheid en leefkwaliteit.
