Design group for the joint procurement of the Viinikankatu underground access road and P-Hämp parking facility

The joint procurement of the design group concerns the Viinikankatu underground access road and the first expansion of the P-Hämp underground parking facility, which will be carried out as a joint procurement by the City of Tampere and Finnpark Parkisto Oy. The access road will serve as a smooth entry from the south and east of the city center and will create conditions for the further development of the underground road network. The design plans for the access road, which runs from the surface into the rock, are largely complete. The access road starts on Viinikankatu next to the Atalpa building and runs below the foundations of the Kaleva interchange bridge. The route continues underground under the Tampere Hall plot, Åkerlundinkatu, and from there under the railway area and Rautatienkatu, where the parking facility expansion will be located. The access road will be built simultaneously with the expansion of P-Hämp. Both solutions implement the underground master plan for the city center approved in 2022. The overall joint procurement has largely had project plan-level designs prepared before the design phase now being procured. The tender request concerns the design group to be procured for the overall design, which will prepare plans suitable for the tendering of contractors. In addition, the design group will prepare implementation phase plans under the guidance of the selected contractors. The aim is to ensure a technical, functional, and cost-effective final result in accordance with the client's objectives and seamless coordination between the areas of responsibility of the city and Finnpark Parkisto Oy.
