Description

WCC282026: This project delivers essential safety infrastructure for the Arklow community by replacing and installing twelve hazardous, corroded ladders with marine-grade galvanised steel units. Strategically installed at the North Quay commercial hub and South Quay leisure areas, these ladders provide critical emergency egress for the public and secure access for local fishing crews. By upgrading these high-use waterfront zones, the development fosters a safer environment for maritime employment, protects resident leisure users, and supports Arklowโ€™s ongoing waterfront regeneration. Site Verification: Existing ladders will need to be inspected and evaluated based on current condition and suitability for replacement. Quantity: A total of only 12 (twelve) ladders and related supports/fixtures and safety rails are required. Location: These ingress ladders are to be installed along the North and South quay walls in Arklow Harbour. Ladders may need to be fitted into pre-existing quay wall cutouts.
