We are looking for a Neighborhood Manager for the period December 2025 to the end of July 2026, 36 hours per week. The assignment of Neighborhood Manager is dynamic and service-oriented, involving intensive collaboration. This is done with and from the community, specifically for public spaces. The management of public spaces is constantly evolving. We choose to work integrally, future-oriented, and sustainably. You will contribute to the city's goals: active, natural, culturally historic, economically vital, and livable. As a neighborhood manager, you are the linchpin in the neighborhood for public spaces in the municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch. You know the physical opportunities and challenges of your neighborhood for themes such as greenery, play areas, dog facilities, etc. Together with residents, neighborhood and village councils, and employees of the municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch, you will work to turn wishes and ideas into actions where possible. No day is the same. The assignment has a broad scope in terms of both subjects and contacts. Your skill lies in forming and maintaining an overview, connecting issues, realizing play facilities in consultation with the environment, and guiding (resident) initiatives. Collaborating with all stakeholders in the area is one of your main tasks. For this, you will have many consultations with residents (representatives), entrepreneurs, organizations such as housing associations, the police, and employees from across the municipality. This can be during the day, but also in the evenings and sometimes on weekends. Additionally, you are a (delegated) client and budget manager. You formulate assignments for employees of the municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch who prepare and execute work at the neighborhood/community level for you. You gather ideas from the neighborhood and guide the initiators in developing them further. You plan and coordinate the realization of neighborhood-specific assignments. You connect wishes and ideas from the neighborhood with the knowledge and expertise of your colleagues. If a wish is not possible, you will discuss it with the neighborhood and look for alternatives. You contribute your knowledge and expertise from daily practice to (integral) projects in public spaces or to policy development. You analyze and translate data on, among other things, resident satisfaction and input from colleagues. In short, an assignment full of variety, diversity, and challenging tasks. The assignment falls within the Programming team, which is part of the Public Space Management and Programming department (approx. 100 FTE) within the City Management sector. Within the department, four other teams are active: Business Operations and Support office, Northeast Neighborhood Management Team, Southwest Neighborhood Management Team, and the Specialist Execution Team. Together with 3 other Neighborhood Managers, you will be responsible for the entire city. You will work closely with management directors and contract managers, as well as with neighborhood managers, neighborhood teams, and technical specialists. You will participate in various meetings, such as livability meetings where all issues playing out in the neighborhood come together.
