Execution of active protection treatments in the 2024/2025 season on operational areas K1 and AC1 with a total maximum area of 1.49 ha, located in the Upper Biebrza region within the Biebrza National Park in the Trzyrzeczki Protection District, Sokółka County, Dąbrowa Białostocka Commune, within the cadastral area of Szuszalewo, cadastral plot 10/1.

This tender concerns the provision of active protection services for non-forest wetland and meadow ecosystems in the Upper Biebrza Basin, located within and adjacent to the Biebrza National Park. The scope of work involves manual mowing of vegetation, manual cutting of tree and shrub regrowth, manual pruning of trees and shrubs, and the removal of biomass from a total maximum area of 1.49 hectares. These activities are to be carried out in the 2024/2025 season on operational areas designated K1 and AC1, specifically within the cadastral area of Szuszalewo, plot 10/1, in the Trzyrzeczki Protection District, Sokółka County, Dąbrowa Białostocka Commune, Podlaskie Voivodeship. The primary objective of these treatments is nature conservation, in line with the Polish Nature Conservation Act. Specifically, the project aims to maintain and protect valuable peatland communities, including Natura 2000 habitat 7230 (alkaline fens), and moist meadows, along with their associated mosses, vascular plants, and animal species, particularly birds of non-forest ecosystems. Furthermore, the treatments are intended to preserve the non-forest character of these habitats by preventing the succession of tree and shrub species and mitigating the accumulation of unmown plant biomass, commonly known as 'wojłok'.
