Forestry and Parks - Request for Proposal - NATRF2022 - Migration Survey 2026
Description
The Director of Surveys Office (Public Lands Disposition Management Unit, Lands Delivery and Coordination (North) Branch, Lands Operations Division, Alberta Forestry and Parks) (“Surveys Unit”) is accepting proposals from professional land surveyors to inspect and collect GNSS Static observations on Alberta Survey Control Markers (ASCMs) for various Parcel Towns within Edmonton East (Site 1), Grande Prairie (Site 5) and/or various Parcel Towns within Edmonton North (Site 8) as outlined in this RFP.
ASCMs were established in these towns under the Parcel Mapping program in the late 1980s and early 1990s. These ASCMs were integrated into the provincial reference frame through conventional or GNSS observations to existing ASCMs that were established using Inertial Survey System (ISS) observations. Due to the limited precision of ISS techniques the established coordinates of these ASCMs do not meet the modern standards to support integrated surveys. This project is being conducted to resolve these issues of precision and give modern coordinates for the ASCMs.
A contractor will be engaged to inspect the ASCM’s within the 51 Parcel Towns listed in Edmonton East ASCM List, Grande Prairie ASCM List and Edmonton North List (See Appendix D), complete Alberta Survey Control Marker Condition Reports for each, obtain static GNSS observations on two ASCM’s per Parcel Town, and submit a survey report describing the work completed and any issues that were encountered throughout the duration of the project.
Refer to the RFP document for additional background and complete scope of work.
