Global Product Licensing Agency Services
Summary
Description
Agency: UNICEF | Reference: UNICEF-PFP-2026-RFPS 503919 | Type: Request for proposal
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) invites qualified firms to submit proposals for the establishment of a Long Term Arrangement for Global Product Licensing Agency Services.
UNICEF has a long-standing history in branded and licensed products dating back to 1949.
While the consumer landscape has evolved significantly, licensing remains a strategic opportunity for UNICEF to generate flexible, unrestricted funding (Regular Resources) while extending the organization’s presence into everyday consumer environments in ways that reinforce its mission and values.
Recent analysis conducted with a leading global strategy consulting firm confirms the strong commercial potential of UNICEF’s licensing business, with projected annual royalty revenues of USD 14-36 million at maturity.
To realize this potential, UNICEF intends to appoint a single
global licensing agency to manage its brand licensing operations on an end-to-end basis.
The selected agency will be responsible for managing UNICEF’s global licensing portfolio, driving sustainable growth in royalty income, safeguarding the UNICEF brand, and ensuring that all licensed products are compliant, ethical, sustainable, and aligned with UNICEF’s mission and values.
Priority focus will be placed on markets and product categories with the highest potential.
In addition to core licensing operations, UNICEF may request the provision of ad-hoc strategic advisory services, such as guidance on co-branding frameworks or new product categories.
These services, where required, will be contracted separately and will not form part of the
royalty-based model.
