Description

To develop a Power Management IC with low voltage dynamic point of load regulation able to supply independently multiplesupply rails.Description: Exploration in harsh environments with long lunar nights and limited amount of energy poses difficult challenges for the success of these missions. Traditional standby modes, which consume a substantial amount of power when inactive, have proven detrimental for applications of this nature. By utilizing advanced power management techniques such as dynamic voltage scaling, selective rail supply, and sequenced control of FPGAs and microcontrollers, significant energy savings can be achieved. This Power Management ICs could be utilized in all the processing boards reducing not only the consumption during the long eclipses by entering into deep hibernation modes but also during the sun phase by adapting the consumption of the processors to their workload. Under this activity an Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) is developed that is able to supply multiple rail voltages required by FPGAs andmicrocontrollers. The supply voltages are able to adapt dynamically to the workload of the FPGA or microcontroller, even switching-off non used logic, improving significantly their energy efficiency. The activity encompasses the following tasks: - Requirement consolidation - Analysis of suitable Architectures for Power Management ICs - Design and development of a Power- Test and test results assessmen
