Die Kraftwerke Soor und Dietfurt befindet sich in der Gemeinde Bütschwil, an der Thur und nutzen deren Wasser zur Stromproduktion. Es handelt sich um klassische Ausleitkraftwerke (Laufkraftwerke), welche das Wasser des Flusses an einem Wehr fassen und über einen kurzen Kanal der Turbine zuführen, bevor das Wasser wieder dem Fluss zurückgegeben wird. In den Zentralen arbeitet je eine Kaplan-Turbine. Die Maschine und das Zentralengebäude werden nicht umgebaut! Im Rahmen der geplanten Sanierung der Fischwanderung (Abstieg), wird jeweils der Oberwasserkanal aufgeweitet, ein Fischabstieg erstellt (Beckenpass) und eine neue horizontale Rechenreinigungsanlage gebaut. Die Baumeisterarbeiten umfassen diverse Abbrucharbeiten (Beton und Stahlwasserbau), Felsabbrucharbeiten sowie Betonarbeiten inkl. Koordination mit weiteren Gewerken (Stahlwasserbau, Metallbau…).
