In der Stadt Zürich wird das Mittelspannungsnetz des ewz sukzessive von 11 kV auf 22 kV umgestellt. Diese Spannungserhöhung hat auch Einfluss auf die Anlagen der Wasserversorgung. Im Seewasserwerk Moos werden hierfür die Mittelspannungsschaltanlage sowie alle dazugehörigen Transformatoren im Reinwasserpumpwerk ersetzt. Die Ablösung der Schaltanlage und der Umbau der Trafozellen erfolgt in mehreren Etappen und im laufenden Betrieb.
