Description

The Healthy School Lunch Program is a significant Government initiative aimed at addressing food insecurity and supporting student wellbeing. Moving from delivering around 3,000 meals per week to 15 schools in 2022, it has now expanded to deliver over 21,000 meals per week to 60 schools from 2026. Ongoing delivery of the program beyond 2026 will aim to support families with the increasing cost-of-living pressures. In addition to this, it will enable children from low-socioeconomic backgrounds to be well-nourished and ready to learn and continue to contributing to improved attendance and engagement outcomes.
