Die Ortsumgehung von Groß-Bieberau ist im Bundesverkehrswegeplan 2030 im vordringlichen Bedarf aufgeführt. Gegenwärtig führt die Ortsdurchfahrt der B 38 in Groß- Bieberau auf 2,2 km Länge durch die Stadtmitte. Nach der bereits erfolgten Linienbestätigung (Abschluss Leistungsphase 2 „Voruntersuchung“) durch das Bundesministerium für Verkehr (BMV) soll das Planungsprojekt nun weiter geplant werden gemäß den Leistungsphasen 3 bis 5 Leistungsbild Verkehrsanlagen gemäß HOAI.
