Die Gemeinde Richterswil benötigt zusätzlich Platz für 100 Asylsuchende, für welche sie entsprechende Wohnmöglichkeiten zur Verfügung stellen muss. Die bestehende Anlage im Walder in Samstagern soll nun mit einem Neubau in Element- oder Modulbauweise erweitert werden. Das Projekt ist nicht als temporär zu betrachten, daher wird besonderen Wert auf eine nachhaltige Integration in die Umgebung gelegt. Die Zielgruppen sollen jeweils geschossweise voneinander getrennt untergebracht werden und umfassen Familien, Frauen mit Kindern, alleinstehende Frauen, Männer sowie rollstuhlgerechte Einheiten. Die Gemeinde Richterswil hat ein Kostenziel für dieses Projekt von ca. CHF 8 Mio (inkl. MwSt.).
