The Territory is seeking experienced suppliers to provide the supply, installation, and ongoing maintenance of a dedicated MRI system for Radiation Oncology at Canberra Hospital, including the removal of the existing CT scanner. The initiative aims to enhance treatment accuracy and patient outcomes by leveraging MRI’s superior soft‑tissue imaging to improve tumour delineation and protect surrounding healthy tissue. The project includes procurement of a 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner with radiotherapy‑specific features, refurbishment of the CT2 bunker to meet MRI safety and infrastructure requirements and integration of supporting systems such as shielding, power, cooling, and storage. Also, comprehensive software and service support through a robust service level agreement.
