Aninver Development Partners SL is preparing a technical proposal for an upcoming consulting assignment funded by the AFD in Cote d'Ivoire. We are seeking a qualified Local Startup Ecosystem Facilitator to support our team in driving innovation and enterprise growth within the finance, construction, and ICT sectors.

This position plays a critical role in bridging stakeholders, supporting local entrepreneurs, and fostering collaboration across the dynamic economic landscape of Cote d'Ivoire. The successful expert will collaborate closely with public and private sector actors to implement impactful capacity-building and ecosystem development activities over the course of the assignment.

Aninver is preparing a proposal for this assignment. The selected expert will be part of the proposed team; the engagement is conditional on the contract being awarded to Aninver. The full Terms of Reference for the position are shared with shortlisted candidates.

Objectives of the assignment

• Strengthen the local startup ecosystem and foster innovation within target sectors.
• Facilitate linkages between startups, investors, and key market stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of capacity-building programs for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
• Contribute to local economic development and employment creation through targeted interventions.

Scope of work

• Map and analyze key actors within the startup and innovation ecosystem in Cote d'Ivoire.
• Design and facilitate networking events, workshops, and stakeholder engagement sessions.
• Identify growth opportunities and bottlenecks for local startups in the finance, construction, and ICT sectors.
• Coordinate closely with project partners, beneficiaries, and institutional stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and report on ecosystem development activities and milestone achievements.

Your role as Local Startup Ecosystem Facilitator - Cote d’Ivoire

• Serve as the primary local focal point for startup engagement and ecosystem coordination.
• Organize and moderate workshops, training sessions, and roundtable discussions with local entrepreneurs.
• Facilitate partnerships and mentorship opportunities between established businesses and emerging startups.
• Provide technical inputs and localized insights for project reports and deliverables.
• Maintain strong working relationships with relevant national authorities, incubator hubs, and financial institutions.
• Support monitoring and evaluation activities related to startup performance and growth metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Economics, ICT, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in startup ecosystem development, business incubation, or entrepreneurship support.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the economic context and startup landscape in Cote d'Ivoire.
• Sectoral experience or strong familiarity with finance, construction, or ICT industries.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Professional fluency in written and spoken English and French.
• National of, or based in, the project country

Desirable

• Prior experience working on donor-funded projects, specifically with AFD or similar international development agencies.
• Established professional network among local investors, incubator managers, and startup founders in Cote d'Ivoire.

An energetic and well-connected ecosystem facilitator with deep knowledge of the startup landscape in Cote d'Ivoire and proven experience supporting entrepreneurs in finance, construction, or ICT.
