Aninver Development Partners is preparing a competitive proposal for an upcoming advisory assignment funded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Italy. We are seeking an expert for the Logistics & Supply Chain Expert position to support the enhancement of global operational efficiency, specifically focusing on strengthening end-to-end supply chain orchestration and visibility within the agriculture and transport sectors.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in optimizing institutional supply chain mechanisms to ensure the timely and transparent delivery of goods and services supporting food security and agricultural development worldwide. Working closely with central institutional structures and digital procurement platforms, the expert will contribute to workflow coordination, data architecture assessments, and the finalization of actionable implementation frameworks in alignment with the corporate Supply Chain Action Plan.

Aninver is preparing a proposal for this assignment. The selected expert will be part of the proposed team; the engagement is conditional on the contract being awarded to Aninver. The full Terms of Reference for the position are shared with shortlisted candidates.

Objectives of the assignment

• Strengthen end-to-end supply chain orchestration and visibility across operations in alignment with the corporate Supply Chain Action Plan.
• Enhance supply chain processes and workflow coordination to optimize institutional operational efficiency.
• Improve data architecture and end-to-end visibility tools supporting the agriculture and transport sectors.
• Streamline stakeholder consultations and finalize actionable implementation frameworks for global deployment.

Scope of work

• Conduct comprehensive stakeholder consultations to evaluate current operational bottlenecks and requirements.
• Analyze existing workflows and design robust supply chain orchestration mechanisms.
• Evaluate end-to-end orchestration visibility tools and review underlying data architecture.
• Define integration requirements for digital procurement and management platforms.
• Consolidate findings to develop technical recommendations and formulate the final operational action plan.

Your role as Logistics & Supply Chain Expert

• Lead the assessment of current logistics and supply chain processes within the organization.
• Engage with key stakeholders to map out and redesign streamlined workflow orchestration mechanisms.
• Evaluate existing visibility tools and data architecture to identify gaps and integration needs.
• Formulate technical recommendations and contribute to the finalization of the operational action plan.
• Provide expert insights on transport and agricultural supply chain best practices to the multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure all deliverables meet the high standards expected by FAO and Aninver Development Partners.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research, Agriculture, Transport, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in international supply chain management, logistics, and operational efficiency.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing end-to-end supply chain orchestration mechanisms and visibility tools.
• Previous professional experience working with United Nations agencies, specifically FAO, or international development organizations.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in evaluating data architecture and digital management platforms.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English; knowledge of other UN languages is considered an advantage.

Desirable

• Familiarity with FAO's corporate Supply Chain Action Plan and internal operational procedures.
• Experience in change management and streamlining stakeholder consultations in complex institutional settings.

An experienced supply chain and logistics professional with a strong background in UN operations, excellent analytical skills, and proven expertise in designing end-to-end visibility and workflow orchestration frameworks for international organizations.
