- Integrate organic waste treatment technologies seamlessly with planned transfer stations and sanitary landfill infrastructure.
- Evaluate system efficiencies, logistical pathways, and infrastructure linkages to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lower long-haul transport costs.
- Contribute to upstream technical and operational analyses for optimal facility siting and waste stream consolidation.
Scope of work
- Conduct inception activities, review background documentation, and participate in mandatory site visits to existing dumpsites, transfer stations, and major organic waste generation points.
- Establish baseline assessments of municipal waste generation, organic fractions, contamination levels, and collection logistics in the metropolitan area.
- Evaluate suitable organic waste treatment technologies, such as composting and anaerobic digestion, alongside potential centralized and decentralized processing facilities.
- Assess infrastructure integration opportunities, examining how recovered materials and organic diversion pathways fit within existing and planned waste management systems.
- Contribute to the development of implementation pathways, preliminary design concepts, and integration strategies aligned with project timelines.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to assess environmental, financial, and institutional frameworks governing municipal solid waste management.
Your role as Solid Waste Systems / Infrastructure Integration Specialist
- Lead the technical assessment of solid waste systems and infrastructure integration requirements for circular organic waste management.
- Analyze waste collection, transfer, and transport logistics to determine optimal interfaces between diversion facilities and final disposal sites.
- Evaluate potential siting and engineering integration options for organic processing units at existing or rehabilitated waste management sites.
- Collaborate with municipal authorities and project stakeholders to validate planning assumptions and infrastructure design parameters.
- Contribute to baseline reports, technical memoranda, and feasibility study deliverables concerning waste system efficiencies.
- Ensure that infrastructure integration recommendations align with climate mitigation goals, greenhouse gas reduction targets, and operational best practices.
