Description

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the
World Bank Group, invites qualified consulting firms to express interest in
providing technical assistance under the
Local Champions Initiative (LCI) –
Burundi
.
The assignment aims to improve the investment readiness and
bankability of selected Tier 2 and Tier 3 Local Champions in Burundi through
structured company-level support focused on financial management,
environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices, corporate governance, and
strategic action planning.

The selected firm will be expected to deliver the assignment
through a two-phase approach:
Phase 1
will cover diagnostics and
company-specific Strategic Action Plans (SAPs), while
Phase 2
will focus
on implementation support tailored to priority gaps identified during Phase 1.
The assignment is expected to run for approximately
12 to 24 months
.
IFC is seeking a firm with demonstrated experience in
delivering advisory or technical assistance to SMEs or growth-stage firms in
emerging, frontier, or fragile markets, with strong expertise in investment
readiness, financial management, ESG, and corporate governance. The firm should
also demonstrate a strong local delivery model in Burundi and the ability to
deliver services in
French
and
English
. Proposed key experts
should include a Team Lead/Project Manager, Financial Management Expert, ESG
and Corporate Governance Expert, and Business Strategy and Investment Readiness
Expert.

Interested firms should provide information demonstrating
their qualifications, relevant experience, local delivery capacity, and
availability of appropriate experts for the assignment. Shortlisted firms may
be invited to submit a full technical and financial proposal in line with the
detailed Terms of Reference below.

IFC to support financing for participating companies under the Burundi LCI
program.
