In particular. the consultant will:
⢠Undertake a legal and regulatory review of the Cooperative Act and related legislation, with specific reference to fisheries cooperatives
⢠Identify gaps and inconsistencies in relation to international standards, particularly ILO Recommendation No. 193
⢠Develop a set of practical recommendations for strengthening the Cooperative Act.
⢠Present key findings to constituents and other stakeholders (online)
⢠Carry out an analysis of the policy framework concerning fisheries cooperatives in Guyana, including identification of areas for improvement.
⢠Organize a training workshop for the staff of the Department of Cooperatives and the Department of Fisheries on Recommendation No. 193 for the Promotion of Cooperatives, the Resolution on decent work and the social and solidarity economy, as well as fundamental principles and rights at work.
⢠Realize a mission to do the training workshop in Georgetown, Guyana
