L’usine de Châtelard I est située dans le Châtelard sur la commune de Finhaut en Valais. Elle a été construite entre 1919 et 1923. En 1972, l’usine a été agrandie par l’installation de Châtelard II. L’usine sert principalement à l’alimentation en courant de traction (16,7 Hz) de la Suisse romande et de la ligne du Simplon.
