Description

The City of Spruce Grove is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to undertake a Community Health Needs Assessment for Spruce Grove and the surrounding region. The purpose of the assessment is to analyze current and future health care demand, identify clinical service gaps, and provide clear, evidence-based findings to support regional health care planning, advocacy, and decision-making. Spruce Grove and the surrounding region continue to experience significant population growth, contributing to increasing demand on health care services. Access to timely health care, particularly urgent and after-hours care, has been identified as a key regional concern. In response, the City and its regional partners are seeking to determine whether clinical, demographic, and health service utilization evidence demonstrates a need for a 24-hour Urgent Care Centre serving the region. The successful consultant will work collaboratively with the City, regional municipal partners, provincial health care representatives, physicians, health service providers, Indigenous health or medical leadership, and other identified stakeholders. The assessment will analyze relevant population trends, clinical and health service utilization data, existing health care services and capacity, current and projected demand, and available stakeholder data and expertise. A key component of the assessment will be to provide a clear and objective conclusion regarding the demonstrated need for a 24-hour Urgent Care Centre and its potential role within the existing regional and provincial health care system. The assessment should consider how additional urgent care capacity could complement existing health care services and provincial investments, including the Westview Health Centre. Where the evidence does not support an Urgent Care Centre, the assessment may identify other significant clinical service gaps demonstrated through the analysis. The final assessment will provide the City and its regional partners with a clear, evidence-based foundation for advocacy and future discussions with provincial health care decision-makers and determine whether further feasibility, clinical planning, or service model analysis is warranted. Commodity Categories: Business and corporate management consultation services, Health service planning, Public health administration, Health system evaluation services Delivery Region: Alberta
