Consultancy Services for Updating Environment, Social, Gender study & performing Climate Study of the Project

Procuring Entity: Abu Zafor Miah. 1.The Government of Bangladesh has applied for financing from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) toward the cost of the Construction of New Dual Gauge Railway Line from Bogura to Sirajganj Project. The project intends to develop approximately 85.67 km Mainline and 33.25 km of new dual gauge railway line between Bogura and Sirajganj, together with 11 stations, associated structures, bridges/culverts and modern signaling and telecommunications systems. The portion of the proceeds of the financing is intended to be used as payments under the contract for the Consultancy Service for updating environment, social, gender study performing climate study of the project for which the EOI is issued. 2.The consulting services (“Services”) include support for project preparation by updating the environmental and social safeguards, climate risk and GHG assessments, engineering design, BOQ, bid documents, and economic analysis to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Government of Bangladesh and AIIB policies, and to strengthen the project’s technical, economic, environmental, and social readiness for implementation. 3.It is expected that the Consultancy Assignment will be for a period of Six (06) months. The firm or Joint Venture shall demonstrate experience covering the following areas: (i)Preparation, review or updating of feasibility studies, detailed engineering design, or technical studies for transport infrastructure projects; (ii)Preparation, review, updating or due diligence of environmental and social safeguard documents, including ESIA/EIA, SIA, RAP, LAP or equivalent instruments; Climate risk assessment, GHG accounting, and transport economic or financial analysis.
