The Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (the CCCCC) has received financing from “Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI)” toward the cost of the project titled “Strengthening Data Management Foundation for Disaster Risk Preparedness in Belize” and intends to apply part of the proceeds towards the contracting of a “Consultancy to Develop Guidelines for Mainstreaming Gender and other Social Considerations related to Infrastructure Projects in Belize”.
The objective of this consultancy is to develop practical, user-friendly gender mainstreaming guidance tools and build institutional capacity to integrate gender considerations across the planning, design and implementation of development, and infrastructure projects, plans, and policies, with particular use by gender focal points, sector ministries, and other key stakeholders. This objective aligns with international practice that emphasizes project-cycle integration, measurable indicators, staff accountability, and dedicated focal-point support structures.
