Daycare facility Horsevænget

This tender concerns the main contract for the renovation and new construction of the Horsevænget children's institution. Rødovre Municipality is experiencing growth in child numbers and requires additional childcare facilities. Consequently, a decision has been made to establish a new institution at Horsevænget 9/Rødovrevej 367. The facility will accommodate 8 children's groups, with a total floor area of approximately 1,600 m² spread over two floors. It is designed to house around 128 nursery and kindergarten children and approximately 40 staff members, with flexibility in the distribution between age groups. Existing buildings on the site, formerly used as a children's institution, will be partially preserved as part of the new development. Several trees of conservation value are also to be integrated into the outdoor areas. Rødovre Municipality aims for the new institution to pedagogically support play and movement, both indoors and outdoors, and to foster a greener generation through building design and initiatives promoting sustainable behaviour. This project is selected as a pilot for the municipality's developing sustainability strategy, emphasizing that sustainability, play, and movement should be integral to daily life and visibly reflected in the new institution. The main contract for this new children's institution is now being tendered through a restricted procedure. The total construction budget for 2023-2026 is DKK 71.6 million, excluding VAT. The main contract is expected to be awarded to the selected bidder in week 44.
