Direct Award: Toxic Algae Analysis - Mussel Monitoring Denmark
About This Opportunity
TranslatedThe Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (Fødevarestyrelsen) requires analytical services for saltwater to qualitatively and quantitatively determine the presence of toxic algae. These analyses are crucial for the monitoring of mussels and must adhere to the specifications outlined in Annex 3, Chapter 3 of the Mussel Executive Order, as well as the action values stipulated in Annex 8 of the hygiene guidelines. A key requirement is a maximum Service Level Agreement (SLA) of 3 working days from sample receipt to the submission of an analysis-qualified response and report. The contracting authority has conducted a market assessment in accordance with Section 2 of the Danish Public Procurement Act. This assessment has confirmed that only one supplier has demonstrated genuine interest and possesses the necessary capacity and professional qualifications to perform the required analyses. Consequently, the contracting authority is proceeding with a direct award, referencing Section 2 of the Public Procurement Act, as market conditions indicate a lack of genuine competition for this specific task. This direct award is based on the objective finding that no real competition exists for the provision of these specialized toxic algae analyses within the Danish mussel monitoring program.
This is a services contract in the environment and climate, water and sanitation and general supplies sectors, with a focus on Water Quality. Located in Denmark, Europe, this opportunity is open to firms and consortiums, with an estimated budget of DKK 275,000.
