Description

Douglas Shire Council invites suitably qualified and experienced suppliers to submit a tender for the design, manufacture, supply, and delivery of Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) structural components for the construction of two new pedestrian boardwalks located at separate sites within the Douglas Shire local government area. The proposed boardwalks will be constructed by Council's internal workforce and are situated in environmentally sensitive coastal locations in mangrove ecosystems. Due to the remote nature of the sites and the limitations with access for heavy construction equipment, both structures will be constructed in situ. One of the boardwalk locations is situated within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, requiring careful consideration of environmental impacts, constructability, durability, and material handling during installation.
